Because RSX uses i-VTEC, clockwise rotation motor which mounts on RHS of engine bay, and Civic DX coupe runs counter-clockwise rotating engine which mounts on LHS of engine bay.

However, it would be interesting to look at the new Civic Si which also gets the i-VTEC engine and see what the mount set up is like.

The Si, unfortuntely, looks like a cross between a van and a focus hatch.

I'm still thinking about the DX coupe+swap idea but I didn't know the SOHC's were still counterclock.

That doesn't make any sense to me. Clockwise or counterclockwise it will still fit. Only thing is will the engine bay accomodate it due to it's size. That's all that matter. Just install the damn engine exactly how they installed it in the RSX with the intake manifold in the front. Then custom fabricate a new exhaust manifold because I don't think the RSX one will fit. You have to keep RSX tranny because it doesn't bolt on to B series motor. Flip the mounts around or custom make new mounts for the tranny on the right side and the engine on the left side. All you ignorant people that think it's not possible, just wait and see.

Sorry, but I hate it when people don't know what they are talking about and mis-inform others.

What I think he ment was that it wouldn't be a direct "drop in" with just a little bit of rewiring. As for the engine bay, I would think that both the RSX and the civic would be similiar to near identical in dimensions.

IT dont matter which way the engine turns. If you mount it in a civic it will fit like a rsx and everything will work fine

It's a JDM ITR because of the typical Japaneese square vans in the background.

Yes this accident is very sad and such a waste of an ITR, yet to me it still looks beautiful

Funny how that sparked a memory. My brother was in South Carolina a while back at the Acura Dealership looking at an NSX. Next door is a Porsche dealership. Brand spanking new 911 Turbo in the showroom. 10 Minutes later they are taking the car out of the showroom, apparently someone wanted to test drive it. After all the talking my brother watches the Silver 911 Turbo launch out of the driveway with a light pssh after the 1-2 shift. Light was green and he proceeded to cross the intersection, next thing you know a full-sized van ran the redlight and collided with the car. My brother, still in shock, ran over to see how the driver was. The driver and the salesman came out with a couple of scratches and bruise from debris and the airbag. The front end of the 911 was gone. Sad.

That motor should drop right into the 2k1 civics. It looks the same as a RSX-S motor, which does drop in tho the 2k1 civics!!
