when i shift fast like when im tryin to chirp second when i shift into the gear it grinds. I know i had the clutch all the way in, this has happened to me like 5 times. anyone else have this problem

 

It's a fairly well known problem. When your car is still cold, shift slower, it's usually not as big a problem when the car is warm. Go on clubrsx and search for 2nd gear grind. It's a very well known problem with no solution in sight. Some people say changing the tranny fluid will fix some of it.

 

theres gotta be a way to fix it, it used to shift damn smooth into second now it sucks

 

take it back to the dealer.

 

i have a 03 si and it does that into 3rd the dealer says it fine.i mainly does it when im over 6500 .

 

The cable tranny sucks on this car. It does not have a solid rod like the previous dc2s, eks, etc.

The only thing I can suggest is leave your clutch in a little more before you release into next gear.

You will have to adapt to new driving techniques. Also you can try putting redline MT-90 in your tranny, it does improve it somewhat.

The problem is, there is no known fix.

Honda should have designed a better transmission. I wonder if people with the DC5R trans is having problems like us.
