Default b18b in Civic.... help me w/ new tranny... LSD worth it? And a couple questions... Thanks

Hey guys.. I know this must be getting old, but I have a 99 ex w/ a b18b Ls motor & LS tranny right now....
Car has : CAI, DC 4-2-1 header, Skunk2 IM, DC exhaust, ACT 6puck clutch, Short Shifter.....

Its still really F&(%^$% slow....

I race my buddies Si w/ CAI, Header, Exhaust & VAFC tunned & he still whips my *** by a car +... lol (its the truth... but thats what buddies are for...lol)

MY QUESTION

I'm selling my Tranny & I think getting a GSR tranny...

how much better is the JDM GSR w/ LSD ??? Remember I'm going boost
Or should I get a GSR tranny or B16 w/ LSD or just B16 ?

Thanks a lot guys

I have had both and would definately go with a b16a LSD tranny anyday over the GSR. A lot of people choose GSR mostly for highway reasons but I will stand by the B16a tranny.

Either that or just get an ITR tranny.

i have heard that the longer gear ratio is better for spooling. so gsr tranny if your gonna go with forced induction.

That combo will give you real close gears when its matched with the B18B....and then, on top of that if you go turbo you will be spooling really, really fast...it will be a very good autoX and street driver (not highway) but, if drag and real high HP is your goal i would not recommend the B16 trans.....go with a GSR or ITR trans with LSD.

Depending on what kind of driving you do most, that is how you should pick the tranny.
If youre on the highway a lot then maybe you should choose the gsr because its gears are slightly longer than b16's and you wont be at super high rpms when youre doin 75+mph
(but you could put ls 5th gears on either tranny and have a good cruising gear for highways)
