Default b16b cams in jdm b18c

i was told that you cannot zero in these cams on a b18cr without adjustable cam gears, due to the differences in block height. thats why im ordering cam gears and will be going to the dyno in 2 weeks time. in the meantime, will running these cams advanced harm the engine? does advancing the intake cam automatically result in more power?

I'm sorry but you've been lied to. First off, there are no differences in deck height (or block height as you put it) between the two engines as both engines use P72 blocks. On a second note, the B16B or CTR cams are a direct drop in replacement for any other B series VTEC cams, in fact they are functionally identical to 00-01 USDM ITR cams.
