Default Speaker Newbie Question

Quick question about speakers.
My '99 hatchback has a set of crap 6x9's in the back, and some joke 6.5's in the front.
i just purchased the car and have somewhat of a strict budget that I have to adhere to.
my question.
which would you change first? fronts (components?), or rear..
why? and what sort of speakers would you recommend
thanks in advance!

Front, but you have to look at the big picture - what headunit is in the car?

If it's all factory components, you'd be better off doing a headunit first IMO.

have you installed it yet?
what sort of speakers are you using? are you running it off straight head unit power or with an amp(s).
i'd like to run off the head unit for now. any speaker recommendation? iheard that a lot of the better speakers need crazy power to run them.
thanks.

so if i am running on alpine headunit power alone, i probably won't get that much of an improvement over my current factory setup?

the alpine headunits power should be enought to power the speakers, alot of the higher end head unit will have a small amp built into it for example the alpine cda-9815 has a built in amp that takes direct power to the battery

if you get one of those headunits your speakers should sound better than factory!

CDA-9815 has been discontinued

look into
Alpine CDA-9831, 9833, 9835

go to this website to get more information
http://www.onlinecarstereo.com...D=611

check ebay for cheaper prices
