Default Please help me identify this header...

Heres the deal. This guy bought a 93 lude (h23) and now hes selling the AEM cai and pulley it had as well as a stainless steel header. He doesnt know what brand it is, but says a shop thought it was a borla header. Here are the pics

Please tell me what brand you think these are and if they look good. The deal is pretty good, so do you think it will add good HP?

it might be a borla but it also might be a pace setter stainless steel header. if it is a dc sprts it will say dc sports. look all around it to see if theres a initials or markings of a company

I think DC welds a plate to the #2 pipe with their logo on it to every header they make.

The O2 sensor alone is with $150 or the whole header is? Do i need to O2 sensor, or could i sell it and use the one from my stock header?

The owner who I communicate with through email was very vague. But basically said no logos, serial numbers or other forms of engravement. He said I dont know what brand it is; but I got it off a salvaged vehicle I bough along with the intake and pulley.

1) Does borla even make a 93 prelude header? Cuase they have no listing on there site.
2) Worst case senerio if it is a lesser quality header like a pacesetter; will it still yield gains? This is the cheaper option to buying a new dc sport CC header. How much more would i gain from a DC CC over a pacesetter SS?
3) Lastly, is there anyway to clean the finish and make it shiny again? Anyawy to seal it to prevent corosion, tarnish (cant find the right word...). Basically, is there anything i can do to make the headers look good; if not my option is that heat tape coating.

What is the most you think it is worth spending to take a chance with this header? $150 sound right like honda318dx proposed? My other option is a DC CC header for like $289 (i cant find a used one anywhere).

Two toher things... One how difficult would it be to install? It doesnt have any bolts or anyhting; what do i actually need for mounting?

The other thing... could it be obx or something? I mean for intakes there are billions of brands that make em. But realistically how many brands make an h23 header in SS? And of those most can probably be ruled out because they would have logos (dc,n2,greddy,etc... all have logos or some initailing). What abuot some Jspec thing? Do mugen and Type-S headers all haev markings? I doubt it, but just a thought.

I think you can rule out the typeS because it doesn't have that wierd liil bracket on front. I was thinking like a kamikazee or something like that. You don't neeed much to put it in, it will probally use the ones you already have. Maybe a new gasket. but yeah o2 sensor I just bought mine for about 130$

Yeah, it looks like a cheaper co. like Chickara, Pacesetter...
Definetly for the H23a though.
Its not hard to do the headers just by a manual so you have something to go off of.
should only take you an hour at most.

Why are O2 sensors so expensive? Cants you just use your factory one?

that probably is a factory o2 sensor, they're just expensive.

the header doesn't look DC to me, i would rule out chikara since they usually have longer primaries(granted its hard to tell just by looking at a picture). i don't think borla even makes headers for a prelude so thats out. to me it appears that its either a really good header, or a cheap header. either way, theres an O2 sensor in it!

Why would people by an o2 sensor if they can use their factory one? Also, how much could i sell a used one for?

IS the primary the top part witht he four tubes, and the collectore the end part that looks checkered? What is the middle part, sorry; but i dont know much about header design.

Lastly, how many brands make headers for h23? I would think not that many.... Anyway, tahnks for you help.

O2 sensors like to go bad when you change the headers, they often get damaged when you take them out..
