i think it could be a seal in the head...or bad rings on the pistons

how do you know there is oil on your piston? Did you look through your spark plug hole? If you see black deposits, that is normal. All piston tops will accumulate slight carbon deposits. Run a fuel additive through your motor preferably Regan by Penzoil. About you losing oil, it might be your rings, or your avle seals. Try going with a thicker oil.

Do a leak down to see where it is coming from.
Is it possible the seals around the plug portion of valve cover are bad?

yeah i looked thru the hole to see it. Im sure it wasnt carbon because the first 3 only had little patches of wet spots but the whole 4th one was wet. I've tried a fuel additive already with my last oil change and it didnt seem to make a difference. I dont want to use a thicker oil because i dont want a "quick fix", i'd rather not **** it up anymore than it already is. im gonna take it to a shop tm and have them look at it...thanks for the replies.
PS. how much does a leak down go for? i've never had to do one before so im clueless...

A leakdown test is actually a very simple procedure, but most shops charge you about $70 to do it. If you know a shop well, usually they'll do it for free.
