break-in period o4 civic si?
i now have another question for you i wasn't told that there was a break-in period on the car i was told i could drive it any way that i want to. last night i was reading some of the other questions and replys that other people had, and come to find out there is a break-in period (page 110 of the owners manual). i have contacted the service department at the dealership and they told me that i would be fine, just not to hold the car at steady speeds for long distance. i only have approx 250 miles on the car. my question is have i hurt the car or should i be ok. (i plan on taking it easy in-tell i reach 600 miles witch is recommended in the owners manual) thank you for you assistance all of your replys are helpful.

it's a honda motor it can take alot of abuse. I broke it in at 2 k. I drive it hard so I wanted to make sure everything was working right. just make sure you change your oil early once. like at 2k. you should be ok.

My girl's Type S shows 10k in the manual for the first oil change... I was like Whoa. Hell No.
That car will be up at Acura every 5k or less if I have anything to do with it.

In the newer Honda engines they use chrome moly rings and require no break in period. Drive it the way you would drive it if it have 20 grand on it. Break in period is a thing of the past and for old 350's
Actually first oil change in a honda is 7500 under normal conditions and 5000 under severe service(dusty conditions, short trips(under 10miles), hard driving).
