How would I know if ignition wires are bad? Is there any way to check it.
Unplug the wires, stick a screwdriver in one of the wires and put it between the core support and the screewdriver then stick your tongue between the two crank the engine andif your tongue gets shocked theres spark. This will test the wire and the distributor.
haha

hahahahahahahahahahahahahah oh man I almost fell off my chair reading that
for testing spark plug wires, take them off and stick one of those consistancy testers ( not sure what they are called) and see the resistance on them...they should all be around the same, if one's off by a lot, then they need replacing...not sure on the exact #, cause I believe it depends on the plug wires.
Anyways not sure if there is a better answer out there, I just remember reading that a long time ago, excuse me if I dnot use the right termanology

Yes, this is the way. I dunno when the last time my ignition wires were changed since I bought my car used. So I checked 'em one day to make sure, and sure enough, they're still good.
