Default CAR WONT START

I PUT A D16Y7 HEAD ONTO MY D15B6 BLOCK BUT THE CAR WONT START NOW. IT HAS NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. I HAVE THE D15 INTAKE MANIFOLD ON IT RIGHT NOW SO EVERYTHING JUST PLUGGED IN. MOTOR TURNS OVER BUT WONT START. I CHECKED THE FUEL LINES AND PUMP. THE SPARK PLUGS ARE ALSO FINE. ALSO A FLAME SHOT OUT OF THE HEADER WHEN I TRIED TO START IT ONCE. IM NOT GOING TO MESS WITH IT UNTIL I FIND MORE OUT. ANY INFO WOULD HELP

Did you check to see if you are getting spark at the sparkplugs? Is your timing set right? All your connectors are plugged in? All grounds securely attached?

Set the motor with cylinder #1 at TDC. Then see if the cam gear is in it's correct position when it's supposed to be at TDC. Basically you need to see if the head and the bottom end are in correct timing with each other. If not, your car will not start.

Yeah, if its backfiring timing is off. Is your cap/rotor good?

what distributor are you using? I'm not sure if it matters, but it is a possiblity.

You should use the same dizzy/ecu combo.

actually if its backfiring it doesnt nessacarily mean its off timing..... depending on if it backfires on the accel of decel it can be either fuel or spark...

ignitor could be bad in the distributor, or the wire going to the ignitor....I had that problem before, just had to resplice a wire.
