haha you guys are pretty funny.
i think the biggest thing is dont get too nervous about the reaction time, focus on the launch and make sure your 1-2 shift is good, that'll get you out of the hole and past the 60' mark, then just watch your revs til the next shift and make sure you cross the finish line before you start braking.

i guess no one can be serious. "rev to limiter then side step" how many time have you done that.and what was your time.
i takes a lot of practice and skill but its not real hard.take your time.

This is what im talking about.Everyone comments its driver era and such, but when i ask a question about driving technique no one can give a real answer? Please im gonna be going friday i would just like too know how too launch.
what kind of motor are you running and what tires???
b16/b18c with street tires: about 3700-4K
b16/b18c with slicks: 6K
b18a/b: try 3-3500
and **** feathering the clutch, try feathering the throttle. it takes a little different approach but i think in the long run its easier to be consistant

sorry to change the subject (sorta)
i was just curious about how to properly begin and exit a burnout (pre race) in a RWD car.
i.e. pedal work, brake application, whatever i need to know (never done it before and i would like to learn the right way to do it)

just shift a few RPMs EARLY so it doesnt hit the revlimiter.

if you shift fast enough you wont hit the limiter
and yes , like he said..drive it like you stole it !

if your on fourth or third gear.. smash the brakes until your under your second gear (around 30mph?) then clutch in --- down shift to second -- blip the throttle hard but very fast -- kind pop the clutch then drive on.. when down shifting you should be in the middle of the turn or the apex.

u push in the clutch using only half of it's face -- then you pop the clutch by sliding it off
the pedal {___}
your foot [_]
sidestep [_]_} and then you slid it off to the left
for me when i had a honda i took off the dead pedal (or rest pedal) and it'll make more space for you to sidestep.
