ok this kid i always talk to... he always swaps motors and works on hondas. he was talking something to me the other day but i wasnt paying to much attention, but maybe u guys heard something about it he said that he was working on putting a k-series head on a b-series block? anyone ever heard of it? i have no idea if it would happen or anything.. any of u guys got ne ideas???

Itll be a frankenstien car thats forsure. But my understanding is that its the same as D and B series. That rumor that you could but a B16 on a D16 block, FALSE!

 

the motor's work the in oppiste direction, i mean if you had enough money you might be able to do it, but why

 

i dont think its possible. for the same reasons that Luser states.

 

Slammed is right, the engines don't even rotate in the same directions. Honda B's and D's and a few Chevys have a rotating assembly that spins counter clock. Majority of engines spin clockwise including most of the K's. For him to do so would require him to flip the cam gear and distributor components in the head to the other direction. Not entirely impossible, but the only people that I know who've done that intense of machining were British Touring Cars with an almost unlimited funding.

Not to mention, B's are belt driven and K's are chain. Plus matine head problems

It's seem unfeasible for the money it would take; that's even if it were possible somehow.

 

I dont know which is funnier this topic or that "VTAK" video I just watched....

 

Tell him he should use a DOHC Z6 head instead.

He'd have to put it on backwards, which would cost a rediculous amount of money for what little gains it would provide. The two engines spin in opposite directions, and while it may still be possible to achieve with enough money and work, it is nowhere near being practical or smart to do.

I have seen pictures of an H22A that had its head reversed and was made to spin clockwise, but I'm not sure if it ever ran because it was on an engine stand, not in a car.

 

Not possible.....

However, you might be able to make a b series head act like an I VTEC head.
