I only want opinions from first hand experience please

I've been hearing both that they sucks and they are good so someone who actually owns or has owned one please fill me in, i don't care about ground clearance really....

I had mine for a couple months, it would scrape all over. Then I was about to drive onto the freeway and I heard a loud noise. As I was going to merge, my steering got all sloppy and I heard a grinding noise. My alignment was so messed up I had to drive on the shoulder, get off the freeway, and slowly drive the car back home. Upon inspecting the car, I noticed that the crossmember had broken where the radius rod goes into. Too bad I didn't have a digicam back then or I would have taken pics of the broken piece. I went to Place Racing and they replaced it for free, I then sold it.

well that just deters me from buying it lol thanks for the 411

i guess it's jimfab or whenever fullrace gets theres out yet then

Yeah man, good thing it happened right when I got on the freeway. Although Place Racing claims that they have reinforced it since.

 

what cross member do you use now?

do you know if they did reinforce it or not?

They said they did, I sold the new one to a fellow HT member and he had no problems with it, but then he sold it too. I am using the stock crossmember now, don't know if I should get another aftermarket one after that happened.

 

hmmmm how much did you get your place racing for? isn't it cheap like 200? or was i mistaken?

Yeah, I got mime for $190.

I might just have to buy it... i guess i can use that until the full race one comes out then

 

i have no problem with my place racing cross member...

I bought it from a local place called "Autolink", but I believe http://www.jhpusa.com sells them too.

 

I haven't had any problems with mine. It has been on for over a year now. It has scraped before but i don't consider that problem.

autolink did that also come with the PLR mount? i belive it did?

 

got mines at AUTOLINK also

and have had mine for about 1 yr now and no prob expect u should check ur bolt and nuts every month or so

I lost about 3-4 since last oil change....

and yeah I guess they fix that problemo

but still up to u what u want to have
with the PR crossmember it sets u up for either turbo and a EG radiator

Nope, mine didn't come with it.
