Default B18cR

Hey,
Just wondering about the b18cR motor... I have done some searches on it and it came up with a few things that the ''b18cR'' in ITR's is just a normal b18c motor with a b16a head on it to raise compression... Which makes tha famous B18cR rev to 9k. Or is it just a myth?

well, it doesn't take a genious to see that there's a post on the very same page that can aswer some of your questions:

I'm one of the nicer R owners, so there you go:

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=445932

AND if you want more info on the "B18cR" you can either search, because its been covered to death, or you can go to places like "temple of VTEC" for the answers.

http://www.vtec.net/

or you can simply go to google.

B/C a b18c is jdm gsr motor over in japan but the R motors are stamped b18c also....so to tell them apart some of us choice to call them b18c-R's....Just easier way of refering to the JDM Type R motor .

its almost like people call it that because they think that its stamped on there , just like how people say b16a1....no such thing as an a1. but people say it .

Search at Google and look at the 1990 CRX VTEC Service Manual if you can find one. I had it, but I gave it away.

I don't apologize for my actions because I was not rude and I was just.

Someone took A LOT of time categorizing frequently asked questions and putting it into one post which is a sticky at the top of this forum. I think new users should at least have the decency to look through the post before asking a question. My 2 yen

I don't think he is referring to you - simply trying to help save face for the original poster.

I believe the real code for the jdm itr would be b18c spec r since there is no 5 or R stamp on the tranny casing. There are 96 and 98 specs as well.

Hell, I just refer to it as a JDM ITR engine. If I'm being specific I'll say 96 spec JDM ITR engine or 98 spec JDM ITR engine.
