Default intake question regarding 94 ex coupe

hi i just bought a ex coupe and im looking to throw on an intake and exhaust ... first i've been asking around and is it true that if i get a cold intake i put my engine at risk of getting water in it if it's raining heavy or i run over a puddle? is there anything to stop this from happening? perhaps some kind of water filter? if not what's my best next (safest) option.. a RAM intake? thanx

CAI will be fine and if you are worried about the rain then cut the CAI in 1/2 and now you have a short ram.

thanx i was thinking about the iceman intake ive read posts and seems like people choose this over the aem CAI kit ... the iceman comes with a 12" tube so u say cut it down to about 6" ?

get the INJEN intake with CAI extension and AEM bypass valve.
cheap intake, CAI or SHORT RAM if you want, NO CUTTING, and can use during rain.

i went to the injen site and read up on the intakes they have ... here's some fineprint regarding the CAI ... even with a bypass valve....

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A note regarding Cold Air Intake systems and Cold Air Extensions:
*Injen Technology Cold Air Intake Systems should be removed in any wet climates or on any wet roads or highways. Failure to comply with the above warnings may cause water to be absorbed into the engine through the filter causing serious damage to your motor. Injen Technology Co., Ltd. assumes no liability for damages toy your motor due to water entering your engine through the Injen intake system. Although a bypass valve may be used on most systems, it will void warranty and the C.A.R.B. EO# at this time.
Please remember to drive safe, and drive smart.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

now even with a bypass valve or water filter (something someone else recommended) ... is it safe to drive with a CAI?

its safe with a bypass valve, unless its HEAVY HEAVY RAIN or a STREAM that you have to cross.

even with my CAI and no bypass valve, i neveer had problems, only ONE occasion in heavy rain, i felt a 'BOG' and it scared the **** out of me into getting a bypass valve, that seemed to work fine.

CAI has since been stolen, so im rockin a short ram cuz it was cheap, and i needed something.
