clutch install
anyone had any experiece installing a clutch on 92 civic? wondering if it is very difficult to do in driveway or would be best to take to a shop and suck up the install fee. what clutch would you recommend for everyday driving and occasional exhibition driving? looking into act clutch

Doing a clutch isn't hard, but if you aren't very mechanically inclined and you dont have a shitload of tools then the $300 that a shop charges is well worth it.
I have an exedy racing organic clutch ($235 shipped for the kit off of ebay) and I love it

Act street/strip one is a nice clutch for performance...
Installing a clutch in the driveway is doable but sort of a pain...
You could drop the tranny down if you can raise the car high enough...
Otherwise you need an engine hoist...
Also be sure to torque all bolts to specs...
The ACT clutch should come with an alignment tool
The hardest part is wiggling the tranny off and on again...

Bah, just get em out however you want. If you can't figure out how to get the axles out you probally shouldn't attempt it.
Next time I'm just cutting mine in half.

Its unnecessary. Take out the 14 at the top of the fork, the 17 at the bottom, remove the fork, take out the 17 at the bottom of the ball joint, pull the hub out of the lower control arm and out with the axle still attached

Yeah thats how I would have done it if I hadn't been swapping out all of the brake stuff at the same time. I honestly wrote that one and the ITR brake thing in less than 10 minutes.
