Default Dash Removal

I have to take out my whole dashboard beacuse my clutch pedal broke, and i need to take off the dash to be able to get the braket out that holds the pedal.

How hard is it to take the whole dash out?

Can anyone help me and scan a pic that shows all the screws the hold the dash in place?

I have a Chiltons Manaul which sucks, has a pic that shows the dash being held on by 8 bolts.

It's way more copmplicated than 8 bolts, its a bitch man. Not recommended unless absolutely necessary. Are you sure you gotta take it out? That doesnt sound right.

Get a Helm Manual, it will save your *** many times.

Good Luck

yeah im pretty sure i have to take the whole dash out...i've searched HT for broken clutch pedal most everyone says you have to take the dash out, some of the bolts that holds the bracket down are in tight spots, and just by looking you can see some air vents are in the way also.

as for the dash there are about 8-12 bolts but you need to take off the steering wheel, and diconnect the heater/airconditioning cause its mechanical id try and just do it without taking out the dash might bust your knuckles but worth the saved time in my book

P.s. you should be able to move the air vents a little, you might just want to losten the dash remove the bolts on the drivers side only

i just took out my heater and vents and didn't need to take out dash but I still am for other reasons

but from a couple of experiences u don't need to remove it for this

I done a bunch of auto to maunal converts and never took out the dash

it is a pain but u just have to use lots of different tools

trust me with hot *** days like today and tomorrow I heard
u won't but if u do have lots of liquids there at hand and some bumps and u should be coo

but it is just time comsuming but can be done being simple and str8 forward

taking the crx dash out is not hard. i have done it like 5 times. and also put them into 88-91 hatches. it should only take like 15 minutes to take out the dash.

Man, unlucky!!!

What broke exactly, was it the pedal bracket? That is what happened to me!!!

Pain in the @ss! If it is the pedal bracket, you're going to need to drop the dash if ya want to do it properly. One of the nuts is really high, and I couldn't figure out how to get to it. Maybe some pros around here have the secret, and I didn't want to mess with taking the dash out in the middle of winter. There is a great picture of the pedal bracket around here with out the dash in the way. Check this thread, https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=690941, it's on the first page.
If you don't feel like dropping the dash, you can always go getto like I did. Used something like a miniture spring compressor. If you're interested, I can maybe get a pic.

When the pedal broke and i picked it up i saw half of a bolt the other half had snaped off. I think the other half is still stuck in the bracket. I think i might have to drill it out.

holy crap this is funny. i just picked up my buddy cause his pedal just broke. the pedal moves sideways when you push it in. this is going to be our first pedal pull so let me know how this goes so i know how to fix it. just out of curiousity, do you have to replace the whole assembly or just the clutch pedal?

Thats what I did to replace my clutch cable, I do agree that it is a tight spot up there. Someone recommended getting a little dentist mirror to be able to see the little things up there??? Sounds like a good idea, especially when removing bolts.

wasnt that hard at all to take out my dash, did it in like 30 minutes.

i had to pull my dash to replace my fuel line. i had to take everything off, only thing that was left was the steering which was hanging there because i had to unbolt it, thats it the rest was gone.

man fuel line is a bitch to replace
