Default Who makes a good rear strut bar?

I just stripped my rear seats and want a good rear strut brace. Can someone recommend a good one? Also, does the rear upper brace really do anything?

First of all, it depends on what type of car you have. I just installed my JDM Type-R rear upper strut brace in my GSR. I got it from Mike at IPSracing.com The install was a breeze, and I noticed a great improvement in handling. I was greatly pleased with how well it performed.

I just got my spoon front and rear strut bars and they're quality pieces. I noticed an improvement right away. Spoon all the way.

I picked up an OMP for $100. It's nothing but a nice fat pipe (maybe 1.5" in diameter or so) with brackets on the end for mounting. At that price, I couldn't say no. You have to cut the plastic in the trunk to install it (not the covers, but the big pieces of plastic), but that was fine with me. You see a pic of it installed here: http://www.caffeineslug.com/images/c....installed.JPG
(note: the bar itself is bright yellow. it kinda looks white from the camera flash)
I did a kinda crappy job cutting the plastic, but overall I'm happy with it.

[Edit: you can see a couple more pics of it on my website]

I say with a stripped interior just get a cheap OBX rear upper strut bar. It does the job. If you really want it stiff back there (assuming you already have a larger sway bar) get a bar and weld it to your shock towers. If you want to go a step further and really want a rigid ride, get a custom roll cage.

I don't think there's a need to jump on a band wagon a spend a lot of $$$ on a brand name rear upper bar.

I'm with Gee3 on this one! Where can I find an inexpensive OBX or other no name brand at a good price?

Halo - I got mine through Driver's Edge Autosport: http://www.ompwins.com/html/page9.htm
I spoke with Frank, and he was very helpful (both via email and over the phone).

They also sell a front strut bar for what I assume would be the same price - but I believe it's aluminum. It's not advertised, but if you ask them about it, they'll probably send you a pic.

Now that I've gone back to check my old email, the rear bar is actually 1 1/8" in diameter.

im in on the cheap vote. OBX, matrix, anything Ebay that you can find for cheap. Im sorry guys but a strut brace for lots of $$...?? not for me. I would rather invest that same money in an upgraded rear sway bar which everyone should know has agreater effect.

Yes, a rear anti-sway bar is def more important. But my spoon bar plays a HUGE roll as well. You see, I keep race tires in front of it.. it not only holds the tires in better but I also hang my helmet on it. lol.

Cusco front and rear. Looks good and functional. Honestly speaking, I dont see what any bar would have over the next. Something as petty as this would come down to prefernce of either looks, bandwagon, or matching with rest of compnents on car.
I wouldnt spend mad money on these items. I.E. the Benen, I think the $200 dollars can be spent better elsewhere.

anyone know where to get a knock off rear jdm itr bar. I just like the looks asthetically but I don't want to pay a ridiculous price for something that I will paint black.
