Everyone post where you mounted your HID ballasts!
Oh damn, i was in a rush when I made this. I was running late for class, and was hoping to just come back and see a bunch of pics
Sorry
In the pics that were still up, no one had them in a water proof case or anything, but I keep hearing people say to waterproof them somehow. Does it really matter?

I just got some plastic mounting cases for my Philips LVQ-212/Hella Gen3 ballasts. The cases have tabs for mounting them, so I will be attaching them to the underside of my bumper reinforcement bar in a few weeks. Right now the driver side one is on the frame by the cruise control box, and the pass. side one is under the ABS pump.

They were out of stock on them for a long long time, and I recently saw that they got some in again, so I jumped on it.

mine is mounted exactly like that, but soon it will all be hidden inside the bumper, with the wires coming up from underneath the headlights. In that location there I don't like how water gets through the gap between the hood and fender and onto the ballast when you wash the car etc.

I used 3m double sided tape to get mine on. Be sure you like where you put them, because that tape is ******* crazy sticky, took me a crowbar to pry them off when i had to do maintenance.
sorry i don't have any pictures, but mine are hidden underneath the fenders...i used it have it under the hood, but they kept on getting attacked by water everytime i washed the car or when it rained, so i relocated them to under the fenders...since then it has been all good...
I actually bought a pair of those ABS plastic mounting cases for my Philips ballasts recently. I'll post pics later.
btw, with my ballasts wedged against the fender on the driver side, I've never noticed it get wet after rain or washing my car. I think it's fine right there.
EDIT: pic added
