sunpro tachometer wiring?
hey guys, i recently bought a sunpro tachometer teh other day becuz i got tired of driving by ear and looking at the mph to shift gears. its the the stock 91 hatchback motor, the problem im' having is teh green wire.....i did a search and installed it to what i found on the search....one search said wire it to teh dizzy and another said to wire it to a blue wire near the driver side tower. i did both but the meter on teh tach doesn't move. could it be my ground maybe? i have the ground wire wired to the battery wire to neg. i can't find anything other solution. any help with this? if you can supply a pic of where i need to wire it that'd be very helpful. thanks
(i posted in the EG+ Civic / Del Sol was told to see if i can get an answer here.)
the way i have it wired now is
red- into my cdplayer's positive ground wire
white-into the fuse box under the dash where the headlight fuse is at
green- just hanging around
black-wired into my dashboard light
i prolly have it wired wrong
anyhelp please???

Lol...
Red is battery power, hook it up to ignition 12v power source
Black is ground
White goes to dash lights dimmer
Green goes to RPM sensor wire, its on your ECU.

STOP STOP STOP!!!!!!! HANG ON A SECOND!!!! ok the green wire does not need to goto the ECU. if u go into the engine bay, look close to ur distributor and there is a blue wire which is the ground. take the green and connect it in there and presto!!! ur tach will come to life. If u need a picture send me ur email and i'll hook u up with a picture.

It makes the install cleaner, but whatever works...

I recommend that you check all of your fuses. Ok if you are having a hard time wiring this tach please stay away from the ecu there are alot of important wires there. If you miss count a Pin you could wire it wrong and mess up the ecu. I would try the wire in the dash behind your cluster or get rid of the sunpro tach and just get a Si Cluster or an automatic cluster they also have tachs.
As far as the wire in the dash im not sure what color it is but im sure someone will chime in. I belive its a blue wire, all the cars have it tach or no tach. Also remember to make good connections crimp/solder all connection to the main harness. It will make the difference later on.
