put LSD in today, now NO reverse
ok well i finially got around to putting a LSD in my CRX, and everything went pretty smooth, followed the helms by the nose.. and no problems till i get it all back together and the ****** won't go in reverse, and it grinds into 5th.. i take it all back apart, and everything looks right.. i didn't touch the mainshaft or countershaft, simply removed them together, and took out the differencial??.. so i dun no,.. any tranny guys here?.. i'm fixing to head out and pay someone to fix it.. if worse comes to worse, my local pick and pull has them for 75 bucks, and i'll just pay another 100 to have a professional install it.. but i dun no, my best friend who had done this before was helpping me, and he didn't get it?.. any advise?
sorry for the spelling its late, i'm pissed, and buzzing

Sorry I don't have an answer for you, but I'd try this same question in Tech, Forced Induction and All motor...there's some good knowledge in those forums...
i'll try to help, make sure to double check stuff that it all shifts etc...before you put it back together, row the gear selector thru all of them etc.
ok, it'll go in reverse when its all apart.. soon as i put the case on.. its very hard to go in reverse, it'll go, but i have to hammer it in.. i'll see what i can do about pics

oh good god.. i don't even want to imagine putting that back together.. lol
i'm taking in to a trany shop in the morning, if they charge me more then 100 bucks, i'm pulling the LSD out, and getting another trany, then paying for them to install it

sometimes when the shift forks are not all lined up and you try moving the shifter....or it sounds as though you hamered the shift rod to try and get it to move....you can bend that "u" shaped peice that slides through all the bottom of the shift forks....that "u" shaped peice bends really easy so be careful.'
yea and you might also want to make sure the reverse gear is in the right way, I think the big cone goes down.
good luck

check the fifth gear select ring
the select rings have 2 longer teeth than the other and these 2 teeth are 120 deg apart
make sure u got them lined up right
that caused me once not to align my gears
also make sure u have not bent and or moved out of place the synchro lil ring spring tingy
