Turbo or supercharger?
Not true. There are some turbo'd R's on board. Im sure some of them will jump in on this.
Tuning is the key. Also, what type of kit and if your going to beef up your internals and lower your compression.
But in no means is it not a car you shouldn't turbo. If done correctly i've seen some big numbers. ITR-T's I will let you take over.

type r, like any other honda can be safely turbocharged. my old B16 ran 10psi on stock internals w/ hondata for tuning, never had anything blow up on me.

I must agree, the type R can be safely turbocharged. I personally however am going to be using the supercharger route with the procharger HO C1 because of the dyno results ii've seen. people are getting 76% power gains on completely stock motors at 9psi... not too shabby.
Anyway, you can safely do either. Just check out some different setups, look at some dyno results, and decide which you would prefer.

**Smirk** The sales articles always sound nice, don't they?

So you are telling me guys are making 290whp on 9psi with this supercharger setup?
I definitely wouldn't get your hopes up on that claim.

If you call them and ask for the dyno results, they will supply them. Takes about a week, but they will send you any information you ask for. Dyno results dont lie, so Im pretty well concinved. I will scan some of them in and post them if anyone would like. I chalk up the higher power gains cause its air to air intercooled, and its centerfugal so it produces less heat to begin with.

They dont lie. No...
But they dont tell you the whole story either, like it would if you were there.
Remember you can type in "Run 1 : Stock ITR" as the title of the chart with the supercharger installed... And on the internet, you could only start to guess what this car that was dynoed as a "stock ITR" had...

We've also seen dynos of intakes gaining 20whp on stock motors
The funny thing is everyone that buys such products never sees close to the same gains. Dyno's don't lie, but the people that run them sure can.

very true. I plan on doing more research before I purchase anything. Just as of right now for those who choose to use a supercharger, it seems like it may be a better option than the JRSC.
