Hello,

I have a 2001 Honda Accord Coupe V6. My engine light turned on recently, I took it to a mechanic and he said he is getting a Error Code: 1676 1705 but he doesn't know what it means. Can anyone help me out?

If your mechanic doesn't know what a CEL is...go to a different mechanic.


On a side note, I don't know the what the codes mean sorry

 

P1676 is a ABS/TCS signal problem, and P1705 is a transmission range switch short. I've seen the P1705 3 times and all were caused by remote start systems.
There is a Service News from Honda about this code and aftermarket accessories.

 

thanks for the reply. Do you know how can it fix it? Or where I can take it to get fix? The dealers are too expansive.

 

1st question is, do you have remote start? This could be the cause. Otherwise it may be an item that would be cheaper to have the dealership diagnose because they have a trouble shooting procedure for this code that an independant most likely won't. And if the guy you took it to doesn't even have the resources to tell you the basic meaning of the code he's probably not the guy to have work on your car.

 

Yes, I do have remote start in my car. I'm actually having it take out today.
