Wanna add a kill switch, but.....
i don't want to go through the hassle of installing a fuel pump set-up with relay and all.
isn't there an easier way to hook it up under the dash somewhere without using a relay? like to the ECU hook-up, etc.
i know, i know. it's not as effective as being connected to the fuel pump b/c thieves can find it easier......but i just wanna add ONE more layer of quick easy protection which i can easily fix if something goes wrong.
thanks in advance!!

i think its easier to just put a starter kill switch. or maybe do both

funny.
anyways, i figure my dash is so messy from the previous owner's install of the alarm that it would be real tricky for the thieve to figure out what the hell is going on.
the messy wire thing is a great anti-theft defice.
just sucks if the alarm, etc. needs repair.

you could do it just like the road racers do if you want to get real simple.
put the switch "in-line" with these two things:
1) negative battery cable
2) alternator hot wire
done. and if you get one of the switches that has a key on it, you can take the key out and bring it with you where ever you go, car won't start without it.

there is a ton of info in the archives related to kill switches. Some simple, some complex. If you are doing it yourself, make sure you know what you are doing. Check out some of the lenghty posts in the archives and figure out what you wanna do from there. Some people have multiple switches. And of course you DONT want them to be in plain view, you need to hide them.

with thuis kill switch idea, bury the damn thing so only you know about it. seriously.</TD></TR></TABLE>
True. You could encase the wires. Wrap them in fiberglass. Or wrap them with duct tape, then some wire sheathing, then more duct tape, etc. They could still cut the wire, but if you did it well, it would be hard to cut back the case to get the wire exposed enough to make a contact.
Its still stealable, you're just slowing them down which is the real name of the game.
The best idea IMO is to rig it so it will run, but cut off after 5-10 seconds. This means they'll be broken down in the middle of the road.

you may want to tap or cut the lines away from the source. remember, think how a thief would think and counteract them:
if given enough time, they would rip off the back seats and run a line directly from the fuel pump to the section under the dash
Try cutting a line above the easiest point. It make take longer and definately will be harder to install, it'll be that much harder to steal.
