well my friend has been gettin a CEL and i just checked it by a HONDA mechanic and he said it was the cat. Anyone ever encounter a problem with the OEM cat? he has about 102k miles

we looked around and talked to some guys and they all agreed that he needs an OBDII specific cat to get rid of the cel. i was wondering if anyone tried using a universal (carsound cat?) and just welding on an o2 bung. did anyone try that and fix the ceL?

any suggestions?

got quoted $300 installed for a magnaflow (carsound) cat installed from a muffler shop and about $700-800 from HONDA.
