take wheel off
take rotor caliper off
pull hub out
pound old stud out
put new stud in
Put new wheel bearing in
press hub back on
put rotor back on
put caliper back on
put wheel back on
Thats pretty much the giest of doing the fronts on a 96-00

you don't nessecarily have to get a new wheel bearing, but there is a good chance it will get damaged while removing the hub, so its good to get one if you can afford it. The bearing is about $60 from honda and the stud is around $4 from honda.
Also, if you dont have a press, you can use a silde hammer to pull off the hub.

you can grind down the stud and slip it in without having to deal woth pressing and whatnot. i did it to mine last summer. no problems yet. and when i say slip it in its not that easy but it worked for me. oh and it was on a del sol.

You could do that, and it would go in easier, but it is a press-fit for a reason. If it goes in easily, it'll come out easily, too. Think about it. If it is loose (in comparison) then it isn't going to carry its share of the load, leaving the other three to do the work. Its your car and your life to do with as you will, but that is a dangerous thing to do, especially on the front wheels. Jim.
As an edit - I'm sorry, I didn't mean to come across as a dink. If the lugs are tight going in, put them in the freezer (or even better, a bath of isopropyl alcohol and dry ice - like, -80F) and if you can, heat up the hub (350F in the oven works great) then they'll fit together a lot easier.
