i am running my piece of **** b16 while my ls vtec is being built and i was flying down the highway and hit vtec, once i hit 6500 rpms it acted like my rev limiter was set at 6500 and i started throwing engine codes. any sugesstions? i just need this motor to last me about another month

I would check the Check engine codes first

 

VAFC hooked up or anything???

 

dude check the oil level...rev limit will act crazy and shut off at about that RPM...what other stuff do you have eg VAFC etc?

definately check the engine oil. if it gets low. your vtec wont engage properly. and your rev limit cuts in early. also the vtec wire may be loose.
