- This forum is for the discussion of Road Racing and Autocrossing as well as other forms of sanctioned motorsports, and HPDE/Open Track/Track Days events. Please refrain from posting your illegal or poorly rationalized exploits unless it is intended to teach a lesson. This includes drag racing, street racing, drifting, too-gay (some of you spell it "touge") or canyon carving - If you do, we will quickly make you an example of what not to do. We do not condone any behavior that places yourself, or others at risk. We encourage everyone to keep their racing at an appropriate and safe venue. Posts on those topics will be deleted and user rating points docked.

- No bumping. Makes a mess out of things. If the topic isnt active enough to stay on the first page, it probably wasnt that interesting anyways.
- Keep your search queries short (1 word) and always search archived topics as well - https://honda-tech.com/zerosearch
- Posts with excessive vulgarity or poor taste will be removed and user points docked
- Posts on "my first autocross/rally/roadrace/HPDE/etc" are not appropriate and will be locked - they really dont serve much purpose other than to waste forum space
- No ebay links, unless for Racing/Autox/HPDE related product
- Posts appropriate for other forums will be moved (I will notify via PM). Example - "I'm looking for an exhaust/spring/intake/etc setup for my (insert car here)" will be moved to the appropriate forum where the question can best be answered. This forum is also not a catch-all for suspension questions - ask in the forum for your vehicle unless the question is specifically autocross/track related.
- For Sale Items can be posted here as long as they are racing parts (race tyres, seats, etc) but cannot be "bumped". If not sold here, try Honda-Tech classifieds, http://www.sccaforums.com and http://www.improvedtouring.com/Classifieds
- If you have more than one item to sell, keep them in one thread. If you have a post of f/s item(s) already, and have more item(s) to sell, add it to the original post and bump the post once. You must also be willing to ship the item(s) unless they are free.

syner g racing ohio is not the only one who thinks that. Ask anyone and they will tell you the guys on the Racing/Autocross board of Honda-Tech are known to be snobs. Don't know why - maybe the egos from winning/losing at your events. Dunno.

people expect everything to be done for them...
then they get pissed when they learn a lesson and are not spoon fed what they need. atleast most of us here have the common sense to try and figure it out first then ask a questions...

anyone else with me that this forum has a much higher average user age than the rest of honda-tech, and thus a higher expectation for intelligent questions and topics? i say this simply by the nature of the activity focus of this forum, which pretty much costs a lot of money and thus stable jobs, and isnt quite widely participated as drag racing. and i dont think of it as snobbery. we're not here to discuss how to make your car handle better, or say whats "best" for whatever, or hold every beginners hand. i think we've done enough to provide a decent amount of basic and advanced info in the FAQ, and this forum script has a really useful search function if you know how to use it right. but i can see how i nthe context of the rest of honda-tech that we all seem pretty pompous, well quite frankly, i dont really like the rest of honda-tech and wouldnt want this forum to be like the rest of honda-tech.

Travis, try searching for something elsewhere on the board where you don't have a real concise idea of how to phrase the question - search doesn't do much for you at all in that case. Last night, I wanted to try find some performance info on a Type II motor and looked and tried to search and alas didn't come up with what I was looking for (and LOL didn't post a question in Misc b/c I didn't want to get back "try seach jackass!" crap). Part might be due to not knowing exactly how to phrase what I was looking for (for if I did, I'd probably have a better clue where/how to search here or elsewhere).
To the original poster, if you go to http://www.scca.org, you should be able to drill down (from the drop down on the left) to a region finder (http://www.scca.org/interactive/regions.html#cendiv, http://www.cendiv-scca.org/, http://www.ovr-scca.org/). As far as what you need to do, these guys know better than me but I'd say go sign up/show up, torque your lugs, bring a couple bottles of water and try pairing yourself up with someone there that can help you along.
Personally, I don't think the FAQ, sticky threads are that useful unless you have a good idea of what you are looking for.

Personally, I don't think the FAQ, sticky threads are that useful unless you have a good idea of what you are looking for.

anyone else with me that this forum has a much higher average user age than the rest of honda-tech, and thus a higher expectation for intelligent questions and topics? i say this simply by the nature of the activity focus of this forum, which pretty much costs a lot of money and thus stable jobs, and isnt quite widely participated as drag racing. and i dont think of it as snobbery. we're not here to discuss how to make your car handle better, or say whats "best" for whatever, or hold every beginners hand. i think we've done enough to provide a decent amount of basic and advanced info in the FAQ, and this forum script has a really useful search function if you know how to use it right. but i can see how i nthe context of the rest of honda-tech that we all seem pretty pompous, well quite frankly, i dont really like the rest of honda-tech and wouldnt want this forum to be like the rest of honda-tech.

Ask anyone and they will tell you the guys on the Racing/Autocross board of Honda-Tech are known to be snobs. Don't know why - maybe the egos from winning/losing at your events. Dunno.
There are a select few who do answer questions without being a pompous *** about it.</TD></TR></TABLE>
What's worse is you heven have people that DON'T own hondas here in this one particular forum....

I came here when I didn't have a Honda because I heard it was much more mature than the rest of the site. I found It was, so I stayed. Also, I was sick of not getting a discount at NASA-VA events.
