MPFI SWAP PROBLEMS "HELP" "CODE 8" CAR WONT START
Hello guys, I Have a 91 crx dx , and i swapped in a complete d16a6 engine from a 1990 civic EX. I wired off of my dx harness, and everything went great, i took my time and wired everything up exactly how it said in the instructions.I got the instructions from (4thgenerationhatch.com). My problem is that i am throwing a code 8 on the ECU, which is TDC/loose connection. The car will not start at all. I have been trying for the last 5 days trying to get it started. I tried a totally different distributor from my friends running engine, and also his PM6 ECU as well, it still wont start. I have rechecked my wiring about 6 times just to make sure. It is wired to perfection. the fuel pump is working, I hear it when i turn the key on. I have tried a new main relay, still wont start. I retimed it, it is in time.Still wont start. The civic engine was running perfectly before i installed it in my crx. I pulled all of the plug wires and checked them, They are fine. I pulled the injectors and layed the unit on top of my valve cover, and turned the ignition on and got just a little spray out of all 4 injectors and it stopped after a about 2 seconds, should it be a constant spray ?...i tried starting fluid..It will hit every now and then, but will not completely start..but it is is still throwing a code 8 on the ECU...ANY HELP OR SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. I am about at my wits end...

while wiring the dizzy, you should've connected two white wires going from the dizzy to the ecu, i had a similar problem, try switching those two white wires. question,,>does the car turn over or when you turn the key does anything happen?
Yes the car turns over, but just will not start, and it lopes too sometimes when you try and start it.... i'll try the two white wires, and see what happens. So just to be on the same page, theres two white wires on the distributor that i need to hook to the Ecu as well ?... and the other two- blue/green, and blue/yellow That i ran from the ECU also..??....Do they need to go to a certain pins on the ECU?.......
ok, hers the story, i'm in the process of getting very drunk right now, let look over some things and i'll get back to you tomorrow. each wire has a certain home in the ecu. again let me look over my set up and i'll get back to you.
peace.
peace.
you have spark. are you sure that the engine timing is correct. what i mean is, is the engine at tdc when the #1 spark plug is firing. there is a small arrow behind the crankshaft pulley that the woodruff key should be pointing to. there are also markers on the timing belt cover and inside it for the camshaft to point to and i've gotten these mixed up before because there are multiple markers for different engines. just some thing i've encountered. hope you figure it out.
