Default Next recomended upgrade for turbo h22????

Hey guys I have a turboed h22 in my 93 hb. I am installing a block guard, new head gasket and apr head bolts. I am going to take out my vafc and fmu. I am replacing with Hondata and chipped p28 ecu compatible for hondata which is on the way. Also on the way is an AEM o2 censor. I am going to order some injectors next. I already have an upgraded Walbro fuel pump and a Greddy spec II boost controller. What do you guys recomend I should upgrade next for more power. I was thinken along the lines or cams. What do you guys think and what kind? Thanks

You are going to have to be more specific with which parts you already have for us to recommend anything new to you.

Well so far the internals are all stock. I am removing my current VAFC II and Vortec FMU and replacing them with Hondata and a p28 ECU that is chipped for Hondata which should get here within like 2 days. I have a RACE block guard, Cosmetic head gasket, and APR head bolts that I am about to install this week hopefully if I have time. I just bought and installed a Greddy Profec Spec II boost controller. I have a high flow Walbro fuel pump. I also have an AEM o2 censor that should be here soon. It's the one that can be programmed with Hondata. Thats pretty much it. Thanks everyone for any info.

What Exhaust manifold do you have? I am assuming you have the H22A4 since you bought a blockgaurd, right?

my buddy just installed a Venom Intake Mainfold.. and it made a big noticable difference.. he is running a fully built, h22a, with a drag gen 2 t3/t4 running about 7psi on the street, hasn't been tracked yet.. with the intake but is going out pretty soon..
who this is tuned with AEM EMS

The exhuast manifod is from Max Rev, and my motor is a JDM h22a (92-96) a 95 I beleive. I have heard that some of the h22 blocks are closed decks is that why you ask?

I am almost positive you can't use blockgaurd. You have a closed deck motor, all 92-96 H22's are closed decks. But maybe I am wrong?

Yaa it is closed deck. We opedned it up and found out. I bought a sleeved h22a4 bored out to 89 mm off a friend that has 9:1 pistons and rods and got rid of my block. So now I should be good to go. Thanks guys.

Are the H22A4 and H22A1 perfectly compatible? Aren't the exhaust manifolds slightly different? Basically what I am saying is... Can you buy a H22A4 bare block and transfer over all of the H22A1 componets?

To tell you the truth I have no idea. My h22a4 block is a type S. I am putting my h22a1 head on it. Thats all I can tell you on that.

Well, when you are finished will you post up your results? I want to build a A4 block because of the stronger crank journals and open deck design, but I am not sure if they are perfectly compadible???

I think that's already been covered, but at least you have good intentions.

Alright well I got the built h22a4 block installed on my jdm h22a head. It bolted up fine. It is running just fine except my vtec isn't working, but that has nothing to do with the two different peices, (block and Head).

Good luck on your project. I would say cams next. Personally I'm having my motor built toward the end of summer. All my internals are stock running 550cc injectors and AEM EMS.

That was me on lonnie's name, I also installed 880cc injectors and installed the hondata but due to the fact that vtec is not working , I can not tune it yet.

Alright well I got the jdm h22a head installed on the h22a4 built block. It bolted right up. I only had one problem, my vtec wasnt working. I had no check engine lights, all the wiring was correct and everything seemed fine. We took the head off again and seen that the a4 block comes with some sort of oil pressure valve. On the jdm block there is just a hole there. So we figured since the jdm head dint need it before, we will just remove it, and thats what we did. It works fine now. Vtec works fine.
