Maybe something is loose. Did you recheck everything?

How much did you lower the car? Perhaps you lowered the car so much that there's a problem w/shock travel.

I have 500# Ground Controls and revalved Konis on the rear of my ITR, and nothing ever sounded bad...but I didn't lower the car much, either.

Did they forget to install the o-rings between the sleeve and the shock? I've got the same setup and i used electric tape instead for the o-rings. (just a thought)

Dustin gave me a password in an AIM conversation the other day.

We were both in just the right frame of mind, I guess. LOL...

Having seen the picture of him making love to an alloy wheel, this seems pretty humorous.

This would be my guess. The sleeves are very loose without the o-rings installed properly. That is most likely the rattle you are hearing. Get under there and check it out.

yuck,

dont let unreputable folks do work on your car man.

Take it to someone who knows about this stuff, meaning, knows about working with performance parts/installs, not just some random gas station mechanic.

Ask im to see if theres anything wrong with the install, findout whats wrong, then go to the jerkoff who did it in the first place and have im fix it.

if its clunking, more than likely its the nut on top of the strut. make sure thats tight. if it still happens, makes sure the two nuts on top of the shock tower are tight.

how to tighten the nut???
edit: when i try to tighten it, the shock turns with it.
I am having similar problems.....

and I haven't cut my bumpstop yet will soon
and I didn't put the o-ring also, didn't fit

to tighten the nut, grab the flat portion of the strut piston rod thing at the very top with some pliers/vise grips. ONLY grip it on the FLAT part!! do not grip the threads. then use an open ended wrench to tight it.

cut the bumpstop and the o-rings do fit. force the sleeve on with the o-ring. it should be a REALLY tight fit. this keeps the sleeve from clanging around on the strut body. you could also use some masking/electrical tape to wrap around the strut body. just make sure the sleeve doesnt move at all and is tight.

When I installed mine, I didn't trim the dustboots enough (you need to trim them down 10 one third the original size, which means you need to cut the metal part) so mine clunked every time I went over a bump. Maybe thats the problem?

You don't have to...but I still have my stock shocks so I wanted to protect them as best I could.

I think you should put those dust caps back... they are there to prevent dirt and moisture. If you dont you can wear the shocks fast...(unless you want to buy new one every so often)

Check your dampening settings. Also it would help if you grease the suspension.
