Re: NEED HELP INSTALL A 03 SI STEERING WHEEL INTO 97 HATCH CIVIC IS THIS POSSIBLE (CIVIC97KA)
OK, if ya can post a picture of that wheel, itd help. With the 97 civic hatch (motor d16y7 correct?) I've installed one. Assuming you have just have the wheel, I'll assume it fits. If you got the wheel on, screwed on, thats cool. U got 3 plugs? one is for cruise control. Don't know if you have this, sorry. One is a black plug i believe. Theres a screw holding a metal "L" onto the 97 stock wheel. there are tabs on the ends of the "L". The one wire plug connector goes to this. Now u just got the airbag connector. Should be a special plug. Have the airbag close, and ready to put in. Take the airbag's smaller wire hangin from it and this is a ground to the right "stem" of the "L". The airbag connector (helps to have a second person to hold the airbag upright, is a spring loaded thing. Push it on by the ENDS of the connector. When you push it enough, itll click and spring into place. those are the 2 wires from the 97 hatch airbag. if i forgot somethin, email me at mparise58@yahoo.com .
NOTE: do NOT store the airbag upside down. store it face up ONLY. hold it by the sides, don't drop it, and be careful. don't scratch it and don't hit it. It can break your nose and costs at least 500$.
