Machining my Block
ok.. my question is.. i am going to be boring out my b18a1 and i am boring it to 84 mm . i just want to know is it safe to do taht without block guarding and without sleeving. Will it be strong enough to hold for standard NA high compression like 12:1 .. if yes.. will it be strong enough to hold 8.5:1 with 12lbs of boost?
i also want to know if any of you know a place that does it cheap in san diego.
i got napa quote at 25 per cyl. lemme know if u have a better place

I think the cylinders will hold the compression allright BUT I dont think they will handle the stress of being revved, nor will the head gasket survive without some sort of reinforcement (ie. o-rings, cylinder brace etc.) Better safe than sorry right??

Yes, you CANNOT do that to a stock block. Honda recommends AT MOST to bore 0.020 over, which is 81.5mm.
Anything more, and you will need to have it sleeved....preferably ductile iron sleeves through some reputable aftermarket company.
