Default alarm install tricks, screw with theives

Im trying to get a list of suggestions for installing an alarm that is more secure than normal..

Before when I did another install on my last truck I had a few good tricks.. Below is a list that I know of now but feel free to add other suggestions..

1. Power alarm from a small sealed battery inside the cabin and use a relay hooked to the ignition switch so alternator will keep small battery charged when the engine is running..

2. Using relays, run wires to the battery under the hood and use the "under hood" battery power to keep the relays turned on.. If someone cuts either battery cable then the relay will turn off and route the pin switch wire to ground setting the alarm off..

3. Install small piezo buzzers in the a/c vents..

Feel free to add....

Ohh.. I know there are alot of good ideas that can be made here, but some may not apply to me since my car is gutted, no interior at all..

Thieves might get ideas here. So this post is pointless. It's a good try though

I use to have razor blades and exact-o knife blades near the wire to pop the hood.. as time went on they got rust built on to them.. and i sold the car..

Why would you say this post it pointless.. And how can thieves get ideas from here.. If I say that I use a small battery inside the cabin well big deal that they know, Even if they know its there they still have to get around it..

I recently bought some long range baby detectors.

AMAZING!!!!

I live in a complex so I have to park in a parkig lot type deal ut houses are around it but its not lit as good as some of us would like. So I put one of these baby things on the side of my drivers seat.

Its loud enought hat when someone makes a noises or brushes along my car i can hear it. Ive tested it with friends as to what **** makes what noises.

I put it on the drivers side because theats te window that they would smash or try and slim jim.

Only had to use it once. I woke up to hear people talking about my stereo setup, they were like "its got 2 12's inverted at the back hatch and 2 clarion big amps thats just on a custom amp rack"

I grabbed my brother from the basement and we ran outside. Was 4 guys and 2 cars and they booked when they saw us

back up sirens mounted up in fenderwells, and/ or up in the rear bumper, are classics.

any more info on the baby monitor?

I was going to get those cameras from this website x10.com they're really cheap but I don't know if they're good quality.

Also I was looking to install strobes so they go off only when the alarm is triggered. I know how to do the wiring. I just need some recommendations on strobes I should use. I know the ebay $15 ones are crap and the Whelen ones are too expensive. Which ones should I get?

But Im not and the original monitors work good, geat thing for 35 bucks and it wont disable if tey cut your power

Here is my .02 ( and I have 20 years of installing to back it up )

1. Get a hood lock system. Basically it keeps "unathorized" persona
out from where they can do damage.

2. Add a set of air horns or mechanical 'air raid' siren to the system.
The idea here is to make as much noise as possible to attract
attention to your car.

3. get a backup battery or sirens ( if you cant do the hood lock)
this is where they are gonna strick the battery...if they can get it
quiet..they are golden.

4. add xtra leds to the car ( now dont go nuts and make it look like
an extra from close encounters)..in obvious locals (ie door ).
This is a tip off for crooks...if they see it in 'unusal' locals they
know more work was put into it...try another eaiser target.

5. add xtra sensors...glass/audio sensors...digital tilt/motion...
radar/microwave. Crooks try out systems to see the response
if its to diff they move on.

6. No matter how bad the weather is DO NOT DISARM !!! ...If it aint
fit for man nor beast outside...guess what the crooks are hunting fo yo ****!!
Less chance of being seen or caught.

7. Add a TROJAN to the alarm....( eeww get your head out of the
gutter) I started this some years ago...Its a decoy system. Its basically
a defective alarm/keyless what ever mounted where they are normally
mounted. Remember time is the crooks enemy. To get one..go to
an alarm shop and ask if they have any defetive brains with wires they
are tossing out ( make up so lame excuse...you are studding electronics
if for a class, etc. offer up $10 buck to cover it ) you might be surprised.

8. Install the system in diffrent local...under a seat, panel etc. if you
are mechanically inclined remove said panel before you have the system
installed ( but leave it so can be test fitted etc. )Ie unbolt passenger seat
the hand tighten so system can be fitted there. If it cost a few buck more
don't bitch out...the car you save may be your own....

9. Add strobes to your lights....they are really cheap now...remember
ROACHES..hate lights and noise..the more attention the better.

10. USE common sense Park in well lit spaces...in mall park close
to the doors as possible ( yes i know your car is your baby )...the more
traffic in the area the less of a target your car is ( would u break into a car
not knowing who owns the ones around you?)..turn the music down
well before you arrive to your destination.

Just some ideas...this will keep the riff raff away..Trust me they are
WAY TOO MANY EASIER HONDAS TO RAPE OUT THERE...
Just do your part to make sure YOURS ISN'T ONE OF THEM.

later

Sweet.. Some good ideas here..

I like the trojan(gutter minded) idea the best.. Just toss a "used" one on your intercooler and you know they wouldnt want it then..

I'm about to redo the whole Clifford G4 alarm system in my car.
Instead of having the alarm unit under the driverside kick-panel, im going to have it mounted in the driver door. I'm also going to split open all the wiring looms and run the wiring through that and make it look as stock as possible. Not the ghetto group of wires i have which are zip tired. to the previous installer. I'm going to run my antenna on the A-Piller. Shock sensor under the carpet in the center of the car. I will have relays for fuel pump and ecu power. My alarm also has BlackJax. If the alarm some how got disable "without the remote" and the theif drives off with the car, the car will slow down to a stop and siren will go off. Because my siren has a built in battery.
