Adding AC to a DX
I have a 92 honda civic DX and want to add power steering and AC to the car. I have all the components for a Civic w/ power steering and AC already and want to know how involved it is to do the conversion. I am not afraid to remove the dash as this is my project car and downtime is not an issue. I am prepared to install the evaporator, AC compressorm, Reciever drier and AC lines but do I also need the climate control from a EX or can I use mine. Also how involves is the wiring? I am not going to sell the car for one with AC, and have my mind set on it. Can some1 help me out. A search only yielded those of you removing AC not adding it. Also, MY DX has a SOHC VTEC. Will all the parts from the 1.5L SOHC engine fit my SOHC VTEC?
Can't really help you out with much of the other things, but I can tell you this: You will need to remove the dash to get the evap in. Also, you do not need the climate control from an EX...there is a block-off plate over the right side of your climate control that you take off and put the AC button in its place.
