Default Removing rotor deposits?

Due to poor weather conditions, I had issues bedding in my pads properly. The week before the first HPDE, it was raining with temps about 35. Yes, the entire week was that bad. I tried to bed in the new pads, spec VRs, but with no grip (cold and wet), the ABS engaged almost everytime and I could not get enough heat in to the brakes. Hoping that was enough, I headed to the track.

By the first dry session, I had bad vibrations under braking. I tried to re-bed the pads in but to no avail. I'm still stick with vibrations when I have any heat in the rotors. I tried using a little bit of sandpaper on the rotors, but that did nothing.

Is there any way to remove the deposits on the rotors?? Or should I mark that down as "How not to bed in new pads" and get another set.

get some emory cloth from the local hardware store... lightly sand down the rotors... re-bed the pads.

That should get them fixed up for you.

or if the deposits are really bad, take the rotors to a shop and have them LIGHTLY turned. LIGHTLY. otherwise, the idiots will shave off about 0.030" of perfectly good metal. you just need them skimmed; no metal removed, just the cementite deposits.

good luck

Stupid question, you have cleaned the rotors with brake cleaner correct?
