When I install my new clutch, do I have to get my flywheel resurfaced?

i do if it looks uneven in spots or if it looks heated up. you are supposed to but you can get away with not doing it if it looks ok.

 

Any pro would recomend it, it takes a few seconds, why not ?

 

definitely, it's not expensive, and doesn't take long.. last thing I wanna do after dropping/reinstalling a tranny is drop and reinstall the tranny again.

 

on first hand experience, i didnt not resurface my fly wheel when i should of. And the clutch life was cut in half or even more.

 

definately resurface. i was too lazy to resurface, so i just bought a whole new lightweight flywheel

Resurface it. Cheap and easy. Kinda like cheap insurance, because it may be fine, but if it isn't, new clutch and new flywheel down the road.

 

i took it to a place in my town and it took 2 hours and cost me 30$. why not just do it and then you dont have to worry about it.

It's too cheap not to. Save yourself possible trouble in the future.

 

would i need to bring my clucth along too? how much do you know to have shave off? just recieve my clutch and flywheel. i got the cluctch master clutch and the act street lite fly wheel

 

I've heard that you need to resurface a flywheel when installing a new clutch so that the clutch can seat into the flywheel correctly and so that it makes a better initial grab onto the clutch.

you dont need to resurface a brand new flywheel

 

i was reading the papers that cae along with the fly wheel and clutch and it was talking about resurfaces the flywheel so that it sits in right. i guess i might of miss understand it. so i don't need to resurface the flywheel then only if i use the old one ?

only if you use the old one, the new one is ready to go

 

just got my fidanza flywheel from titanmotorsports, quick service, hopefully ill put that badboy on tomorrow with my new clutch. i too was lazy to get the flywheel resurfaced, although i heard that if the flywheel has hot spots or cracks, it wouldnt be recommended to put it back in so i just bought the wheel again.
