I might be fuq'ed!
OK, two years ago I got in an accident where I spun and hit a pole damaging the left front of my ITR. The area which was damaged to the firewall and the portion around the front of the door and behind the left front wheel well. I was told that there was no bending of the chassis by the insurance co. and bodyshop! Underbody repair was done and he motor mount bushing on the left side was also replaced along with a few bent steering pieces!
Upon inspection from dealer techs for 30k service yesterday I was told that they noticed an unusual vibration in the car. After checking the motor mounts they told me that the motor is not aligned and a little off from where it should be!
The body shop which did the repairs has since gone out of business and I probably wouldnt take it back if it were in business. My question is could it be that the chassis motor mount on the driver side is tweaked or could it be the motor get out of alignment when they were replacing the bushing? If there is chassis damage in this area would it be worth the repairs? Am I screwed?
I need some input and suggestions! I plan on taking it to a reputable bodyshop within' the next two weeks! I need a verdict cause I dont wanna drive around with such a noticeable vibration! Hell if it's no good then I would like to have the car totalled and move on!

Contact the insurance company...they paid to correct the problem, and the problem was not corrected properly...go to a body shop and have them inspect the work, if they find that the damaged area was not fixed correctly have them write out a statement to the insurance company so that you have proof that the job was not done correctly. I hope that helps.

L,
Austin gave good advice; the only I would add is that you should get the dealer tech to put in writing the problem he has diagnosed, it should make it easier for you to deal with your insurance company.

I've dealt with insurance companies numerous times...if you are still having problems please tell me...I have a few more options that you can try...like contacting the California Department of Insurance...remember we're in California, we have laws for everything.
