Default CAR WONT START

Hi Guys!!!
I have a 93 honda civic (not sure though what is the engine), and the problem is that everytime i turn it off, Ive got a problem turning it on again.
It will start on my first attempt, but will eventually die. I need to wait for at least 5 min to get it running again.
Sometimes it will die by itself in the middle of the road, and as I have said, I need to wait for another 5 min again.
Ive tried checking for the ECU (just learned from this site how to do it, thanks), but my CEL isnt giving me any code. It lights permanently on.
Hope you guys can help me...
Im a newbie when it comes to cars (i just bought mine about 6 months ago), so please be detailed as possible...
Many Thanks!!!!

if your getting spark but not getting fuel and your fuel pump works then it's most likely the main relay. its an intermittent problem where the joints are not giving a good connection. its right next to your hood latch. remove the relay cover and desolder the joints and then resolder them and it should work fine or you can just replace it. i think its like 55 bucks at honda.

and by the way, how about the ECU and CEL not giving any codes(the CEL is always on), does it mean that my ECU is damaged?
Thanks..

try the dtc plug again sounded like you got it jumped properly. if the cel stay on with the motor running then you should 1 or more trouble codes.

^^^ just get that, it will fix your problem.... I have the same car and had the same problems. Go to your nearest honda dealer and order that, its either 40ish or 70ish I cant remember. But that will fix your problem. Its located on the drivers side, under the dash towards the left FYI.

Listen to the guy up top..fix the main relay.....if you don't hear the whinning noise from the back seat when you turn the key to ign II...thats how u know your pump isnt working.....just fix the main relay...that will solve your problem.

can you help me locate where is the main relay?
I tried looking for it for hours now, but I can not find it.
If you have some picture of the postion of the switch, relative to the car, please post it here.
Thanks.
