Autocross Accords
The search button shows that it has been about two years since anyone has asked about Accords in autocross events. I've got a 4th gen automatic racing in stock class on OEM tires. I had pretty good fun at an event this past weekend. Running 45 psi up front and about 42 in the rear, the chassis felt just about right.
So, my question. Anybody have any suggestions for some improved alignment settings that won't completely screw up tire wear? I know that better tires are also a real key to getting quicker, but I also dont' feel like dropping too much money into the car when the biggest adjustment is really the loose screw behind the steering wheel. Thanks in advance.

I have autox my auto 94 accord a few times and had a blast, but stopped so i dont kill the tranny. I am on the hunt for a hatchback for this purpose. If you're serious about it, i would recommend either a suspension urgrade or even a light wheel and low profile tire upgrade.
Setting your toe and camber more negatively than normal will give a better contact patch while cornering at speed. But really its not worth the trouble, due to the fact that it will wear your tires quicker during normal driving. You can lower your car with aftermarket springs for a couple hun, otherwise not too many options when its stock.

i raced my wagon last year and one time this year. its an auto and did ok. got third overall for the season
if you can, get some falken azenis, they grip really good besides race tires. get some strut bars and rear swaybar. it will take some adjusting and learning how the car will do. it took me atleast half the season before i learned how the car handled and what its limits are. i have a sentra se-r to use this year.

I'd love to get some Azenis, but I need to have tires that can handle at least a little snow, and it's impractical for me to have a second set of wheels right now. I might buy some better high-performance all-season rubber. I have also heard that it is useful to learn how to get quick on regular street tires to get the fundamentals. It was kind of annoying having all four tires just slide sideways in some of those off-camber sweepers, though...
Oh yes, and very cool wagon.
