battery light on
Okay, before i start, here's the schpeel.
92 B18A block
94 GSR head
Skunk2 intake manifold
92 Integra GS chassis.
The problem is that the battery light stays on. A new alternator was put in, and so was a new battery. The wiring has been checked over and over. The grounding point surfaces have been grinded down and cleaned to the bare metal.
Any help is appreciated. TIA.

well.. anyone else know for sure what the problem would be? the alternator's been tested good, ( hence, brand new ).. and so is the battery..
I guess i don't understand what the ECU reset could do for the battery light. i emailed my brother to try it, so i guess i'll wait for more replies, and wait to see what he gets after resetting the ecu.

it's usually directly under the underhood fuse box. it's like any other fuse but more important and it prevents the eletrical system from getting a major surge of eletricity into the ecu(kinda like a surge protector for a computer)
sounds like you "might" of blown this fuse.
get a helms, much more helpful: http://www.helminc.com

It's a current-measuring shunt, so your ECU 'knows' the electrical load that's being drawn from the alternator. It uses this to anticipate what it needs to do with the IAC valve to hold a steady idle. Maybe it also uses it to help control the excitation current to the alternator.

no.. resetting the ecu did not fix the problem. My brother said that was one of the first things he did after the alternator and battery was swapped.
Code 20.. any other suggestions? I'll have to find an online Helms to find out what this is.

Check all the underhood fuses. I remember reading an old post that if a certain fuse is blown, the ELD code will be thrown and the battery light will come on.
hey guys.. i looked all over for the ELD on the teg.. nothing.. it's not under the fuse box.. it's gotta be somewhere else.. the fuses are fine..
help?
anyone have access to a helm's and can scan it in?

ok code 20 is eld.
I had a very similar issue with that code as well. It turnd out to my a simple blown fuse (under the steering wheel) It was like some sort of battery fuse there. Check that out 1st!
don't try looking for the actual ELD cause I did and it didn't do anything. ELD is located inside the fuse box (in the engine bay). Its actaully UNDEReith the fuse box. if that makes any sense.
get back to us.
is that the only CEL on?
Also does the car drive fine?..... any issues with charging system or drivablitiy?

you have 2 helms just not for this car....how does that help him in the least?
btw if you look at the ELD does it have his own fuse..is there any reason to check it out at all, or should that be the last place he looks after checkin all the various fuses you all suggested he check
