I HAVE A 1995 INTEGRA LS AND WONDERING WHAT CHIPS YOU GUYS HAVE AND WHATS IS SUPPOSED TO MAKE THE MOST POWER FOR THE $$. MY BRO HAS A 01 1.8T AND HE'S NOT THAT MUCH FASTER. HE BEAT ME BY HALF A LENGHT IN THE QUARTER, BOTH 5 SPEEDS, AND HE'S GONNA SEND HIS COMPUTER OFF AND RACE ME AGAIN TO SEE THAT CHANGE. first off, you have a honda, not a vw. the gains you get from "chips" are directly proportional to the mods you have. Your not going to see a difference if you throw a chip on a stock ls. The reason that the chip may do a lot more on your friends car is because its turbo, and it most likely raises up the boost...

 

oh dear lord. turn off the capslock you retard.

An aftermarket ECU isn't gonna do a damn thing for you except possibly ruin your gas mileage and cause you to not pass smog. There's no point in it unless you've done a lot more to your car, and in that case you'd want to have the ECU dyno tuned and not some crap you buy off ebay that raises your redline and makes you run rich.

Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do. His chip increases the boost to the turbo as well as alters the fuel and timing tables. German cars like that get A LOT of power added with a chip. Believe me, once he gets that chip, he will blow you out of the water.

A few of my friends have A4's and S4's. Add a chip to the S4, and he gained almost 80hp and similar torque numbers. The A4 added quite a bit too. Made it totally different cars.

You have an LS, which is a disadvantage. There is no Vtec, and the redline is quite low. To beat him with a chip, you'd have to have some sort of forced induction. Something quick and comparable to the price of his chip (~$400-500), you can get a nitrous setup.

Other than that.....well, there's nothing short of a turbo. Maybe Ls/Vtec. Adding a header, intake, and exhaust won't do anything either.
