Default Blowing smoke

my car is blowing alot of smoke, its weird because if i hold down the gas at at around 4-5k it wont smoke until i let off the gas???? any ideas??? i think its bad valve seals im not sure

What color smoke?

Black - Motor running rich
Blue - Oil leaking into cumbustion chamber, usually from worn piston rings.
White - Coolant leaking into cumbustion chamber, usually from blown head gasket.

with blue smoke is there any way to temperary fix it with out doing alot of work, i am getting a new engine soon but just car smoking buggs me

Go down to your local parts store and see if they have any oil additives that will prevent oil burning. Like Barhdal's No-Smoke, or something like that.

Would this smoking you are talking about happen after you did a mpfi swap? Just asking since you asked about the throttle cable.

are u running a turbo or are u stock

and is it burning oil all the time or only when u shift

if it is wqhen u let off the gas then it is the vlave seals

those are pretty easy to change compared to rings

go to ur honda dealer and buy all the intake and exhaust vlave stem seals
u also need to rent the spring compressor tool

go here http://www.homemadeturbo.com/f...10912 and download the civic manual
tells u exactly how to change the seals
