Default Just changed my brake pads, but I have a question

I didn't seem to have a shim or whatever it is on the front pads, I only had them on the rears... is this a problem? Thanks.

I haven't used shims in a very long time. My brakes have not been noisy. So, it may not be that much of a big deal. May also depend on what manufacturer of brake pad.

you're going to have to take it all apart again, go find some shims and re do everything, no shims is no good!!!!

Just giving you a hard time chris, it shouldnt be a problem, I havnt ran shims in a long time as well

Actually, why is it less noisy with those shims? Does anyone know how it works?

unless the pads are OEM honda, i don't run shims, they always end up sliding out a little and cause grinding noises. as long as you greased up the back of the pad, it should be fine.

its to reduce noise in the brakes... you'll be fine without the "grease"

No grease, no shims, so far so good.
