thinking of painting my car from maaco temporarily until i get more money...whatcha think?
i have a 98 civic ex coupe in FBP and want to get a customized paint job in the future, but for now i want to paint it milano red until i get more loot for special paint job, u think maaco will be ok for a couple of years til i get a GOOD paint job?
just save your money and just wait the 2 years till you have enough to do the paint job you want. just keep it black for now
unless your paint right now is bad, i'd say just keep it black for now until you can get the nicer job.
i wouldn't do it, but if you want to keep it for a year then i guess it's ok. They will only last a year, then after that it looks like total crap! Well, they also do a bad job. You'll get over paint and stuff like that. But overall you get what you pay for I guess. Hey, it's good if you want to paint it and sell it right away, that's what I would do.
i have heard stories that Maaco isnt that bad... jus their prep that sux. In my opinion i would just wait and get it done * Right * as in spending a little more extra and getting it painted with a place that has a reputation for good paint jobs. My friend painted his car at Maaco and I painted my car at a place that is known for good paint jobs, and i never regretted ever since, but he regrets it cuz he received
1) orange peels
2) chipping paint
3) bad quality paint
4) fading of paint
5) looks cheap
that is jus my opinion.... i could be wrong
jus get it done right the first time and it will be no hassle to u later.

my paint right now sucks...im thinkin of gettin maaco for now too...if i wax it often...and take care of it...will it last for a little? does maaco take off the old paint? i just want my paint to look good for now...
Is maaco really that bad? i just heard that the reason its so cheap is cuz they just paint OVER your old paint. and of course that would explain the chipping and peeling. but i figured priming it yourself, and getting their highest standard job done would be just fine.
i was thinkin of primin it myself too....will this make the paintjob better?????
Why waste your money. Just save it, and invest it in something that's worth it, instead of a cheap paint job that will start chipping within 3 months.
