Default Fuel Pressure Regulator before the rail??

I have done this before on customers cars, and on one of our own cars, but neither had the fuel requirements that my current project does.

I am not a a fluid dynamics engineer or anything crazy like that, so I would like to see if anyone had any reason to beleive that perhaps it would be a better idea to keep the regulator after the rail? The only reason I want it before the rail is due to space and cleansiliness of my fuel line routing, etc.

Any opinions? Running 1000cc injectors in an AEM rail with a current HP goal of 550fwhp.

Thanks

The only drawback I could see doing a system like that is heating up the fuel in the rail. Ive run the regulator before the rail on Vipers and a few other cars where space was an issue but I try to keep it after the rail to keep fresh fuel flowing through the rail.

that is a good point about the heating up of the fuel rather than letting it cycle thru... is that reason enough not to do it tho?

Since your goal is 550whp I would think that it would be best to have your ducks in a row.. and keep heat down to a minimum. Its not a crazy number but it is enough hp to have a lot of **** go wrong with no effort.
