Default QUESTION: WELDING JDM RADIATOR SUPPORT @!@!@!

well i brought my car to the shop today and asked them about doing my jdm radiator support and installation. i told them why i had to do it and what needed to be done. they gave me two choices in which they could do the radiator support, they could either
a) cut off the whole radiator support, and weld on the new JDM radiator support. orrr
b) cut off half of the radiator support, doing the T style welding, where they take the upper portion of the jdm radiator support and the core support and weld it onto the existing usdm radiator support.

the shop said i could choose either way i wanted and they'd charge me the same, now my question is which one will have a stronger.. more solid support to it. im guessing choice (a) would be the best thing to do since it is once piece rather then two pieces welded together, oh yeah and the shop says they'll align it correctly so i won't have to worry about that either sicne they work on salvaged cars and stuff like that alot, any feedback on this would be great you guys.
thanks.

If they are doing it for teh same price, choice A. Nice clean install, only problem is it is very hard to line up.

I went with choice b for my conversion, it was very fast and simple to do.

Dont even attempt a unless you can trust them.

when me and and my friends did mine we did the B option. It was easyer since we didnt have a long time to mess with it. everything took about 4 hours.

I also went the B route, because i did it myself and i didnt want to deal with the headache of misaligning the radiator support. I would suggest doing A if they said they can do it as it would be cleaner and a stronger 1 piece.

good luck

Actually you're wrong the USDM radiator support will be more stronger since it will still have the USDM bumper support.

option A will be more cleaner imho but if you don't think they can line up a rad
support i wouldn't trust them for chit especially if they're a body shop.

Here's an in depth how to for you

actually you are wrong cause u have to use the jdm bumper extension re-bar and then the bumper support... u dotn use the stock usdm bumper support... only way you can do this is if you cut the bumper and thats a option B man!!!! or u can do it liek me and not even pay a shop and make it a straight bolt on kit!
