HID's.....again to ALL PHILLIPS HID OWNERS
alrite I seen alot of topics on hid's and all I want to know is are the beams like the honda S2000 HID's? matter of fact are they close to porsche or bmw? if not where can I find some as brite as the ones on the S2000 and Porsche?
s2000's have a very distinct HID light, i dont know how, but it is the best one i have ever seen, i wouldn't mind having them
sorry, cant answer your question

I am just doing a 9005 headlight conversion to my low beams, much more intense and look pretty close to HID's! much better than the 9006 bulbs. Just a thought

When i pull along side S2k's, Beamers, Audi's, Lexus, Mercadies (sp?), both of our lights light up the street exactly the same. Mine always has a more distinct cutoff, however they all shine bright white with the same intensity. The only time that the lights become more distinct is from a distance. And my philips look like all of the other blue lights you see out there. BMW's are the only one's that appear more purple-ish from a distance.....
The Phillips HID kit does not give that purplish tint like the S2000. From a distance it has a bluish tint. As you get closer to the car, it is white. When driving the car, all you see is pure white light. It's amazing how much the Phillips kit lights up the road.
My friend's friend has the Phillips ballast and the Vision bulb. He tells me that it's not as bright as mine. The Vision bulb has more of a bluish tint to them.

i have the phillips... i am not happy with the beam cutoff.. its not razor sharp like the s2k, and it is a little offensive to oncoming traffic.. i am in the process of trying to retrofit my projectors.. but the brightness is the same as S2K.. I just want the focus now..
i think the guy talking about light bulbs is referring to putting high beam lights into the low beam slot. basically, just use a dremel or sand the plastic part so that the high beam light will fit in the low beam socket. i did that with some sylvania cool blues for 2 years and they were ok. i love my philips hids though, can't imagine not having a car with hids now
Just getting imitation HID bulbs does not give you an H.I.D. lighting system. Those lights you see on BMWs and the S2000 are lighting systems which have several components that make them work. Not sure how it works, but the bulbs in those cars are not halogens and they are part of a lighting system. I think Acura offers a H.I.D. for the Integra for around $1,000.
thanks for the input...Im going to try to get the S2k HID's and if there too expensive i'll go with phillips...What kind of bulbs do you use for the high beams?
you can get the philips kit for anywhere around 400-600. comes with ballast that's plug and play and specify the right light for projection beams.
