v-tec not workin, help guys!
ok me and my brother did a mini me swap in my dx hatchback, i have the v-tec hooked to a switch and i turn it on around 4500 5000 but it don't seem to be workin, i had one of my friends that have had this swap in a 89 hatch look at it and drive it and hes stumped as well. he said his sohc v-tec pulled way harder and you could tell when v-tec kicked in. think i might have a bad vtec silnoid or maybe my cam is to warn out? the guy we got the head from said its off a automatic car,would that make a diffrents? really need help with this so if anyone can give me some things to check out or somthing i'd like that. thanks

When you are "activating" VTEC, are you making sure that the engine is up to operating temp? Check the solenoid to make sure that it is working. Did you remove the oil control jet on the DX block? Oil pressure is key for VTEC to work.
the solenoid clicks when we flip the switch like its working, i'm geting one from my friend to try on it. it wont work at any temp. i took the jet out of the motor before we put it togethere but how do i tell if its geting the right Oil pressure for VTEC to work?
