21 VTEC spool solenoid valve cant get it to go away even with a new vtec solenoid need help plz
hey guys i have a boosted sohc vtec tuned with crome! well code 21 pops up everytime i hit vtec and it cuts my fuel out really lean and wont let me car run intill i shut it off and turn it back on. i put a new solenoid on and still the same thing does anyone have idea? i really need help cause no vtec= no boost anyways i have a 93 si hatch so it was already wired for vtec if anyone has any ideas even if there dumb plz let me know thanks

Did you check the pressure switch? Remember vtec works with oil pressure and if it doesnt have the right pressure it will not engage. Also check you computer too, might have a bad connection.

how do u check for bad connection? also is the switch right off the solenoid? cause i replaced the hole thing thanks alot for the info im stuck and it sucks!

Check your wiring first off.....you may hve worked a connection loose when you replaced the solenoid or you may have a thin spot in the insulation on the vtec solenoid wire before it goes into the harness.

I just had this same problem. I checked my vtec solenoid connector and found that it wasn't plugged in all the way because the little rubber gasket was bound up in there. I pulled the gasket out and snapped the connector together and no more code 21.

nope not it went out there looked and looked and looked didnt find anything anyone else have an idea its really pissen me off! should i just run new wires or does anyone know how to check i have a multimeter

you need to re run some new wires. like my car... only cause it never had vtec in it. bump for you and good lyuck becassue im going out side to "hopefully" fix mine.
